WHAT: Ever seen Pink Flamingos? We’d put good money on the fact that Charlie Le Mindu has. His fabulously immodest Spring Summer 11 show ‘Detox – Retox – Botox’ contained more than just this one cheeky John Waters reference – the other being his Hairspray-esque 60s-Baltimore wigs in an array of dirty fluoro and pastel pink. Ah, yes, the wigs. After all, that was what we all got so dolled up to come and see (some quite literally – we’re talking to you Pandemonia). Le Mindu, famed for his inimitable brand of ‘haute coiffure’, certainly didn’t disappoint – he’s nothing if not a showman. Hairy antics were what we expected and hairy antics were exactly what we got - leopard-print ponyskin bodysuits, high-shine skyscraper boots in popping Mattel pink and hair, hair everywhere – well, apart from where there also should’ve been some, in the case of the naked models.

Inspired by film stills of the movie 'Requiem for a dream' beautifully directed by Darren Aronofsky. This editorial talks about the notion of being a 'windows' or a 'mirror' based photographer and comes directly from the same-named Mirrors and windows exhibition which took place at the Museum of Modern Art NYC '78.
